Once your house has been sold we advise that you follow these simple steps to ensure a smooth and stress free removal:

Contact a removal company and arrange for a visit to your property for an estimate.

Once your date has been confirmed by your solicitor, book your removal company.

Check this company offers insurance whilst goods are in transit .

Pack as early as possible if you are self packing. Your removal company will give a quote for this service if you require.

Ensure boxes are clearly labelled - especially the one with the kettle in!

Redirect mail. Inform utilities companies of your removal date and change of address.

Ensure to read your meters before leaving the property. Inform your council, TV licence, bank etc of your change of address.

Arrange for disconnection of gas/electrical appliances on the morning of your removal and reconnection at your new property.

Dismantle any required items ie; beds, wardrobes, beforehand if advised to by your removal company.

Pack essential items for immediate use in your new property and label clearly so they are to hand.

Pick up the keys to your new property once the sale is complete and enjoy the unpacking.

Boxes can be returned to your removal company for recycling or you can recycle them yourself.
